A workshop tries five prices before it sends one. Numbering the tries leaves gaps in the book nobody can account for. Estifex counts Q-year-nnnn per workshop and per year, off the book itself. A second press re-opens the same paper.
A price that has left the house is not editable. The way forward is a copy: a new draft, no number carried over, parts and extras brought with it. Sent, approved, rejected — those four words, and issuing a draft moves it to sent without overwriting a later answer.
The workshop, the customer, the product, the quantity, the total, the terms, the note. Not the part names, not the oak, not the rate per cubic metre, not the overhead, not the margin. Empty VAT prints “prices exclude VAT” and adds nothing. Nought is a workshop that really charges none. Those are not the same thing.
“Norr11” and “Norr 11” were two customers, both looked right, and nothing could be hung underneath either of them. Two records with one name are refused. Removing a customer puts him away; his estimates still point at him, because a price whose customer has vanished cannot be explained a year later. Rename him once and the old estimates follow.
Only issued offers count. The rate is of the answered ones, not of everything that went out. Waiting is shown separately. A percentage of nothing is not printed as 0 %. The same figure sits on each customer’s card: which of them buys, and which only ever asks the price.
No. Copy it. The paper the customer is holding keeps its number.
No. Drafts are not offers. Neither is a status on a row that never received a number.
